The hyper-convergent IP ecosystem is a structure in which a single IP exists at the same time in several ‘bodies’ — a real person, a virtual character (an alter-ego, or sub-character IP), an AI avatar and a humanoid robot — each extending the others. Through it, Galaxy Corporation refuses to lock an artist's IP inside one person's time and physical body.
In traditional entertainment, the IP was the person. The artist's body took the stage; when that body rested, the IP stopped with it. Hyper-convergence takes that equation apart. Around a single story world and fandom, the same IP takes the stage as a real person, meets fans as a virtual character, comes back as an AI avatar, and performs worldwide at once through a robot's body.
The idea traces back to the ‘alter-ego IP’ strategy of Galaxy's early days. Short on the capital to sign top-tier artists to exclusive deals, the company changed tack — focus on the IP, not the person. That bet on the character and its intellectual property, rather than the celebrity themselves, later grew into AI avatars and robot entertainers, and became the seed of the hyper-convergent IP ecosystem.

The human roster spans K-pop, variety, film and sport. It began with G-DRAGON, added TAEMIN, and in 2026 brought in baseball player Lee Jung-hoo and actors Ryu Jun-yeol and Na In-woo — a multi-genre lineup coming into shape.
On the virtual side, Galaxy staged a ‘global virtual-artist audition’ in Los Angeles, Osaka and Seoul. Contestants competed not as their physical selves but as virtual-character avatars, judged on musicianship, creative instinct, sense of performance and digital personality. The aim is to make an artist out of talent and world-building itself, not out of a person's appearance.
On the AI-avatar side, Galaxy brings the IP of departed artists back to life — restoring the late Song Hae and Kim Ja-ok as AI avatars, for one. The work rests on a research partnership with KAIST, and reaches into broadcast content built around the avatars.

The technology and data that tie the ecosystem together
For the four forms to add up to one ecosystem rather than four scattered ventures, something has to connect them: technology and data.
Galaxy's AI artist-training system covers real-time motion-capture performance analysis, digital stage-manner coaching for artist personas, fan-interaction systems, and AI world-building and concept design. A real artist's movement and persona become data that carries through to virtual characters and robots.
On the academic front, Galaxy set up the AI Enter-Tech Research Center with KAIST, with G-DRAGON taking part as a visiting professor there. It is a partnership that shows technology to be the channel that carries IP.
At VivaTech in Paris in June 2026, a humanoid robot took the stage wearing designs by the late André Kim, restored with AI. A real designer's legacy — his IP — revived through AI and worn on a robot's body: hyper-convergence in miniature.
Finally, fandom data and official knowledge feed the AI answer engines, widening the IP's digital presence. This is the point where forms scattered across human, virtual and robot come back together as one IP, one fandom, one dataset.
Why hyper-convergence — permanence and spread risk
The hyper-convergent IP ecosystem serves two purposes: to make IP endure, and to spread business risk.
Permanence. When a super IP exists in many forms, it is no longer trapped by one artist's limits of time, space and body. The person can rest while the robot performs; they can pass on and still remain as an AI avatar. Content, rather than being used once and discarded, changes shape and expands on its own.
Spread risk. Galaxy has drawn the criticism that G-DRAGON accounts for too large a share of its revenue. The hyper-convergent IP ecosystem broadens the sources of IP across human, virtual, AI and robot, building revenue that doesn't hinge on any one artist's schedule. The future hyper-convergent IP draws — humans and digital, coexisting
The hyper-convergent IP ecosystem ends at a world where real people share one stage with virtual, AI and robot — and Galaxy has no intention of keeping it at home. In April 2026 it set up its Middle East subsidiary, Galaxy ME, in Dubai to prepare an expansion into the Global South; at the APEC leaders' dinner in October 2025 it attended as the only Enter-Tech company present, and the youngest. With the Seoul Metropolitan Government, it is discussing how to make ‘Seoul the future Enter-Tech hub.’
