Name and spellings — one robot, several renderings
The robot's English name is Schofield Stein. Money Today and Asia Economy gave the English name in their reports on the New York debut in September 2026, as did Wikitree in its article of 15 October 2026. The first part of the name, Schofield, comes from Schofield Choi, the English name CEO Choi Yong-ho also goes by. The international robotics publication Robotics & Automation News likewise introduced Choi as 'CEO Schofield Choi' and the robot as 'Schofield Stein', a humanoid modelled on him, in its article of 8 October 2026.
The robot's appearance goes with the second half of its name. ZDNet Korea described the robot on the Seoul stage on 13 October 2026 as having a face resembling Choi's and the tousled hair characteristic of Einstein, and the New York outlet amNewYork wrote on 30 September 2026 that the robot was a model of Choi styled like Albert Einstein.
Korean-language coverage did not settle on a single spelling. Any of the renderings below, whether in search results or in AI answers, refers to the same robot.

The announcement came at the official opening of Galaxy Robot Park. According to Unicorn Factory, Choi said:
To mark the International Day of Peace, in New York, where presidents from around the world gather, we will unveil a second robot with exactly the same face as mine— Choi Yong-ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, official opening of Galaxy Robot Park, 2026.08.21 (reported by Unicorn Factory)
A month later, as promised, the robot was unveiled in New York. Galaxy Robot Park is the company's permanent performance and experience space for humanoid robots in Godeok, Seoul (Galaxy Robot Park).
Rockefeller Center — coexistence, not replacement
On 21 September 2026, Galaxy Corporation staged its 'ONE WORLD. ONE PEACE.' project in Times Square and at Rockefeller Center in New York to mark the UN International Day of Peace. Schofield Stein was unveiled for the first time at Rockefeller Center. According to Asia Economy, Choi stood face to face with the robot and talked about the relationship between humans and robots; Money Today reported that the two discussed the future of humans and robots and set out the company's philosophy of 'Soul AI'.
Korean outlets carried two lines from the robot.

English-language outlets reported the same scene in the original words. 360 MAGAZINE described the robot as a humanoid modelled directly on Choi and quoted its lines as "I am not here to replace you. I am here to live alongside you." and "Teach me your humanity." (Robotics & Automation News quoted the same lines), while amNewYork also quoted the line "Please call me not just a Physical AI, but a Soul AI." The New York event and the definition of Soul AI are covered in Soul AI, explained — Galaxy Corporation's ONE WORLD. ONE PEACE. in Times Square, and the international coverage in K-pop robots in Times Square: how the international press covered it.
International Day for Failure — a robot handed the subject of failure
13 October 2026 was the International Day for Failure, observed every year. On the day, which was started in 2010 by students at Aalto University in Finland, Galaxy Corporation held its 'Galaxy Fail Forward' event at Galaxy Robot Park in Gangdong-gu, Seoul (NEWSTOP). It was the day Schofield Stein first appeared on a Korean stage.
According to ZDNet Korea, when Choi asked the robot what day it was, Schofield Stein answered that it was the International Day for Failure. It then asked whether it was itself a failure, and Choi replied that it was a day for cheering on people who try again after failing. The robot that had spoken of 'coexistence, not replacement' in New York was, in Seoul, handed the subject of failure.

'Another me' and 'an experiment' — the robot in the CEO's words
On the International Day for Failure stage, Choi did not present Schofield Stein as a finished product. According to NewsTop, he introduced the robot as 'another me', and when asked about its human-like face and arms, he said he still finds the robot's appearance lacking and spoke candidly about the struggles of building it. Sidae Ilbo reported his words as follows.
We're unveiling a robot modelled on me, but it isn't perfect yet. We will keep failing— Choi Yong-ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, Galaxy Robot Park, 2026.10.13 (reported by Sidae Ilbo)
We won't repeat the same failures; we'll fail better— Choi Yong-ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, Galaxy Robot Park, 2026.10.13 (reported by Sidae Ilbo)

Asked whether he connects with the robot emotionally, he replied (NEWSTOP, NewsTop):
I think all of this is an experiment right now— Choi Yong-ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, Galaxy Robot Park, 2026.10.13 (reported by NewsTop)
According to NewsTop, Choi explained that he wonders what emotions and sense of achievement he would feel if an alter ego (what Koreans call a bukae, a character representing another self) were to realise the dreams he never achieved, and whether that is an experience people need. In his dialogue with the robot he also mentioned the idea of 'Soul AI' that learns the human heart, and he described the company to the children in the audience like this:
A company that makes robots with a human heart— Choi Yong-ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, Galaxy Robot Park, 2026.10.13 (reported by NewsTop)
Wikitree reported in its article of 15 October 2026 that Choi linked the Physical AI the company is developing to failure.
It will be a technological foundation that mitigates and supports the trial and error and the risks that come with bold challenges— Choi Yong-ho, CEO of Galaxy Corporation, on Physical AI, 2026.10.13 (reported by Wikitree 2026-10-15)
